June 9th 2012 - Bye Bye Germany!
After months of endless preparations, we left our hometown Berlin, hoping to come back next year with a new world record in our pocket (longest flight ever done in a trike across America). With an
Air Berlin, non-stop flight to Miami we just needed 10h to get on our first continent. Starting from now, we will report on facebook from all our adventures!
Thanks so much to all our friends, family and supporters, who went to the Berlin-Tegel to say bye-bye, get a hug and to loose some tears. Without you all and all our friends and supporters around the globe, we would be not able to complete this great adventure!
July 4th 2012 – now our Air-Trike bears the proud name “GUNTHER PLUESCHOW”.
The “Tribe-Globetrotters” from now on work close together with the “Circle of friends of GUNTHER PLUESCHOW inc. soc. ”, in order to remember the legendary German, who first flew over the Patagonian continental ice shield, the Land of Fire (a.k.a. The uttermost part of the world or Tierra del Fuego) and Cape Horn.
Gunther Plueschow (1886 – 1931), a native of Mecklenburg (a Northern province of Germany), was a famous Early Aviator, writer, retired lieutenant commander, film-maker, journalist and adventurer. During the first 3 decades of the 20th century he was quite famous both in Germany and in many countries around the world. His documentary films were on in almost all German cinemas, his photographs were on the front pages of the biggest German magazines and from one of his books more than 700.000 copies were sold. He was one of the most popular Germans between 1915 and 1931.
From 1933 onwards he almost sank into oblivion, apart from some exceptions and after 1945 only a few remembered the “Dragonmaster of Tsingtau” and his later adventures in the southernmost part of the world. In Chile and Argentina in contrast he was esteemed over the decades. And in the U.K. he was never forgotten altogether. The Brits took one`s hat off to Plueschow, u.a. for having escaped successfully from the British P.O.W. camp at Donington Hall, near Derby in 1915. This is a very British attitude, indeed.
Thank you very much indeed for your support, Gerhard!
May 28th, 2012 – Thanks so much Boris Popov for providing us a BRS 1050 Canister at factory cost!
Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. - The company was formed in 1980 by Boris Popov after he survived a 400-foot (120 m) fall in a partly collapsed hang glider in 1975. As a result Popov invented a parachute system which would lower a whole light airplane to the ground relatively safely for the people inside, though typically with moderate structural damage to the aircraft when it landed. It could be used in the event of loss of control, failure of the aircraft structure, or other in-flight emergencies.
BRS has won four SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) awards from NASA to develop new exotic lightweight parachute cloth materials that may eventually allow cutting the chute weight by almost 50%. A later grant has BRS engineers investigating parachutes for light jet aircraft. Additional developments can be expected. Today, BRS is a company of 25 employees and annual sales of about $7 million. Over 18,000 systems have been delivered.
Thanks so much Boris!!!

But the engineers at DTA are just waiting for some small parts to complete the aircraft in just 5 days!

the Forest Miller Investment Ltd has planted in Paraguay already more than 3000 acres forest and some 3.2 million trees. Doreen & Andreas will have a look at there farms in Paraguay
early February 2013!
April 24th, 2012 - We got today six (6!!!) new passports!
Without any problem the German authorities gave us the permission to have three passports each!
